Abdomen cosmetic surgery Lipoaspiration of the little round belly

Introduction:
A conspicuous or unsightly belly can be distressing for both men and women. Cosmetic surgery adapts its intervention according to your abdominal protuberance, whether mild or excessive.

Three tailored surgeries

The three main cases in a person with protruding stomach are :

  • Case 1 : The little round belly, characterized by an isolated infiltration of fat in a person with a tonic skin. The ideal intervention will be the abdominal liposuction.
  • Case 2 : The round belly, characterized by excessive fat, sagging skin. The ideal intervention will be the mini-abdominoplasty.
  • Case 3 : The distended abdomen, characterized by excessive fat, sagging skin and skin lesions. The ideal intervention will be the abdominoplasty.

Importance of 1st consultation

The mini-abdominoplasty is effective in cases where a simple liposuction would not be enough because excess skin would appear. Corrections below the navel are more successful than the ones at the stomach level. The mini- abdominoplasty prevails upon abdominoplasty when small excess of skin are to be removed.

2nd case : the round belly > the mini-abdominoplasty

The mini-abdominoplasty is effective in cases where a simple liposuction would not be enough because excess skin would appear. Corrections below the navel are more successful than the ones at the stomach level. The mini- abdominoplasty prevails upon abdominoplasty when small excess of skin are to be removed.

What happens during the surgery ?

The mini-abdominoplasty consists in removing excess skin and reshaping the muscle by restoring more tonus. If there is excess fat, it will be associated with liposuction (see Case 1). The navel is not moved. A specific elastic bandage is placed after surgery.

+ Where is located the incision ?

The incision, horizontal, is located on the lower abdomen (pubis) and measures a few centimeters.

+ And the scar ?

The scar is hidden in the pants, discreet but more visible than with liposuction.

What are the postoperative courses ?

The Hospitalization lasts one day. A work stoppage from 2 to4 weeks is prescribed, along with a supporting corset day and night.
The scar should not be exposed to UV light before 3 months to prevent skin pigmentation and is often light pink during the first months.
Bruising (bruises) and an edema (swelling) appear on the treated areas.
It is necessary to wait six weeks before playing sports or carrying a heavy load.

What is the expected result of a liposuction ?

Your stomach has a new contour and your figure looks slimmer. Excess fat is removed permanently, but you must wait several months before healing is complete and so appreciate the final result. Comfort, aesthetics and psychological well-being result from intervention in man or woman.

What are the possible complications ?

Following any operation whatsoever , certain complications can occur, the first ones related to the medical activity and the others to anesthesia.

Although possible complications only represent a small percentage, it is necessary to know them.

+ What are the specific risks of anesthesia ?

During your obligatory talk with the anesthetist, he will inform you in detail of the risks of anesthesia.

It is useful to know besides that during the last twenty years, the risks have not been eradicated but remain almost insignificant.

+ What are the specific risks of the surgery ?
